THE EVENT OF THE YEAR
The London College of communication is presenting the work of MA photography graduates at the final exhibition: A Forming State.
A Forming State brings together a generation of artists who have in common a photography background and a central practice and interest in photography of all forms. Ten of this artist will be presented in this blog during the following weeks through THE ARTIST OF THE WEEK
Encouraged to experiment and test the boundaries of the photographic medium, each artist has created a body of work based on a dynamic research and practice-led process focused on their particular area of interest. A selection from each artist’s body of work will form the group show.
Encompassing the still image, video, installation and digital media, the exhibition is the result of a combination of manifold artistic languages. The show reflects the diversity of the contemporary approach to photography and its fast-changing nature. Through a deeper engagement with the works a harmony can be found, synthesising to reveal ‘a new forming state’.
The MA Photography course at the London College of Communication is a leading fine art photography programme producing some of the most successful contemporary emerging photographers and artists. Part of the University of The Arts London some of the recent graduates have won awards such as the Dazed/Converse Emerging Artist, Magenta Flash Forward Emerging Photographers and IdeasTap/Magnum Photographic Award, and have been selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries.
The exhibition follows a long line of highly acclaimed and successful exhibitions, and will be staged in the heart of London at The LCC, renowned centre of excellence in photography. It will attract more than 400 visitors to the opening alone with many more visitors throughout the duration of the exhibition.
