Introducing Tom Kingsley-Director

Tom Kingsley-BAFTA Nominee, UK Music Video Award nominee and winner of the Evening Standard Best Newcomer Award-his age 26!

Tom has directed music videos for artist such as ‘Fatboy Slim’ and American indie band ‘Darwin Deez’ and in 2009 he travelled out to Japan with his friend Will Sharpe who co-wrote and directed the short film ‘Cockroach’ with Tom. The successful outcome of this short film lead the same duo to direct a low budget independent film called ‘Black Pond’, this film earned the duo a 2012 BAFTA Outstanding Director Debut award nominee.

Black Pond’ stars BAFTA winner Chris Langham and double British Comedy Award Winner Simon Amstell. The thriller follows an ordinary British family and their Japanese friend who are accused of murder when a stranger dies at their dinner table.

Tom admires Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh (Oceans Eleven, Contagion and Haywire) and feels that Steven’s freedom of direction is inspiring and the future of film. (
