Alex Willis Guest Blog: I will survive!

By Guest blogger, Alex Willis

Whether we like it or not summer is over and we can now start moaning about how cold, wet and windy it suddenly is. Whilst some of us want to hide away from the elements, many people see this time of the year as the perfect opportunity to release their inner adrenaline junkie and take part in the vast number of obstacle courses or ‘mud runs’ that seem to be popping up all over place. For some of you who may not have come across these events or may have been living under a rock events such as Tough Mudder and Survival of the Fittest are becoming one the fastest growing participation events in the UK.

Unfortunately this year is my turn, having being roped into Survival of the Fittest by my so called friends. Collectively they what a great idea it would be to go running round the Etihad stadium in Manchester, climbing over monkey bars, running up a Gladiator style ‘travelator’ and falling into unthinkably cold water.

When I agreed to take part I first thought was what on earth would I wear? This
answer escaped me until I looked at Gola Active’s AW15 range. This is where I came across the Equinox. These stood out to; me with their lightweight feel and especially the TPR inserts in the sole, which is a necessity when taking part in events such as this. So all that it is to decide now is which colour!
