Garments included in the new Gola Active ladies’ clothing collection have been engineered to fuse technical features with feminine and contemporary design.  Each distinctive garment has been designed to allow style minded women to push their workout boundaries whilst feeling and looking great, yet many pieces within the collection are also suitable for everyday wear.

The styling is understated, however the detailing applied and the incorporation of soft, high quality fabrics gives each piece a distinctive edge and ensures the utmost comfort for the wearer.  The lightweight fabric offers superb stretch and support, giving the wearer comfort and ease of movement. Integrated panels across both tops and bottoms give a flattering fit and work in unison with the body, sculpting whilst providing genuine muscle support.  Plus with the incorporation of quick drying, anti-bacterial moisture management properties the wearer will be cool and comfortable from start to finish of their workout.

The technical collection comprises three trouser options including shorts, a Capri pant and a full length trouser, plus tops including a short sleeve T-shirt and a tank vest.  Whilst all bottoms are in black, the colour palette utilised across the tops is limited to electric blue, coral, white and black.

The Stow’s cross pollination of genres, catchy songs and energetic performances have caused a stir on various stages across London including the prestigious HMV Hammersmith Apollo, Barfly Camden and everything in between and has also seen them support artists such as Jessie J, Rizzle Kicks and Maverick Sabre. Their presence has also been felt up and down the UK as a support act on VV Brown’s first tour in 2009 and touring across university campuses nationwide in 2011.

One of the many highlights in The Stow’s young career was putting their stamp on the highly respected Camden Crawl by being named Best Live Act 2010 by the Emerging Talent Awards in conjunction with the Gaymers Camden Crawl and MTV as well as popping their Glastonbury cherry in the same year.

More recently, The Stow were named by MTV Brand New for 2012 as one of the 20 top unsigned acts to look out for this year and have been shortlisted for MOBO Unsung 2012 for the opportunity to perform on the MOBO tour.

Second-year footwear design student Jennifer Brook was one of 36 students on the course challenged by internationally-renowned fashion brand Gola to create designs that bring the rich heritage of the brand’s history into the 21st century.

Jennifer came out on top when she wowed Gola judges with her innovative designs, which take inspiration from sports activities such as running, swimming and the long jump. Designs incorporating the layout of running tracks and prints of the words ‘hop’, ‘skip’, and ‘jump’ are key features of the student’s winning collection.

The 22-year-old from Huddersfield will now see her designs in high-street stores worldwide from spring 2012 in a debut collection named Next Generation. The Next Generation collection aims to celebrate and represent young and upcoming design talent.

Jennifer said: “I really enjoyed the whole experience of this challenge, from working on the brief to interacting with designers and visiting Gola’s office in London.

It’s exciting to know that the designs I created will be available to buy in the shops. My designs are innovative because they integrate aspects of athletic activities with fashionable designs that can be used for branding across not only the shoes, but bags,  T-shirts and packaging.”

Donna Hill, Gola’s PR and marketing manager, said: “We wanted to set a brief for a capsule collection that would get people excited about athletics and sport. We were really impressed by the thought process behind Jenny’s designs and were excited to see how she would progress with her idea. From start to finish, Jenny executed her ideas very well and produced something that would work commercially for our target market.”
